First 737-800 for LOT

LOT Polish Airlines has taken delivery of its first Boeing 737-800, SP-LWA (c/n 30682).  The aircraft was delivered to the airline’s Warsaw Chopin Airport base on May 10 and is the first of four to join the carrier this year.

Jeju Air Makes 737 Order

South Korean low-cost carrier Jeju Air has been named as the customer for a previously undisclosed order for three Boeing 737-800s. The deal, which is valued at nearly $300m at current list prices, marks the airline’s first direct-purchase from Boeing.

Collision in Indonesia

A Batik Air Boeing 737-800 was in collision with an empty TransNusa Air Services ATR 42-600 during its take-off run at Jakarta/Halim Perdanakusuma Airport on April 3.  Both aircraft caught fire and were severely damaged.  The 737-800, PK-LBS (c/n 39827)
