Sukhoi has confirmed that a fifth Superjet 100 prototype has joined the test fleet.
 

February 5: Sukhoi has confirmed that a fifth Superjet 100 prototype has joined the test fleet, which has to date achieved 1,300 flight hours in total over 500 flights.

The first aircraft, 95001, has almost completed all its scheduled test flights checking stability and control performance at both high and low speeds. 95004 will go to Torino and Levaldigi airports in Italy for noise evaluation, CAT I and II landing approval and high-intensity radiation field tests.

The last prototype, 95005, made its first flight on February 3 and will be used for pilot training. 95005 is the first aircraft representative of the final production standard. Final assembly is now beginning on the first production aircraft, scheduled to be delivered to launch customers Aeroflot and Armavia by the end of the year.
